Lynne Yelich presenting the 2008 Therese Casgrain Volunteer Award to Dr. Kwang Yang from Surrey, British Columbia for his volunteer contribution to the multicultural communities of Canada, particularly those of British Columbia.  Dr. Yang began volunteering for the Canadian Diabetes Association in 1999, forming the first Chinese diabetes education classes in the province of British Columbia and helping to develop the Chinese Language Diabetes Information Line which provides information and referral services on diabetes throughout Canada.

Elizabeth organized a concert of Hope Tour across Canada, in just six years, she helped to raise over $2.5 million for ALS research and support services.

Mrs. Lynne Yelich, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of HRSD, and the Honourable Rob Norris, Minister of Advanced Education, Employment and Labour for Saskatchewan announce a new Canada-Saskatchewan labour market agreement that will help more than 1000 people a year for the next six years improve their skills and get better jobs February, 2008.
